Investment risks

If you put bananas and money in front of the monkeys. Monkeys will choose bananas because monkeys do not know that money can buy a lot of bananas.
 
In fact, if you offer WORK and BUSINESS to people, they will choose to WORK because most people don't know that a BUSINESS can make more MONEY than any salary.
 
​One of the reasons why the workers remain workers is because the workers are not trained to recognize the opportunity of the entrepreneur
What if , twenty or thirty years ago, a friend told you :

​I believe in some nerds just founding a company about “search engines”, or Online music, or digital cameras, or online bookstore, or a new kind of taxi drivers , or electric cars, etc …

Any investment represents a risk, the first of which is to lose your funds

Even if the amount invested is relatively small, the first precaution is to invest only what one can afford to lose.

The height of the total investment is between € 2,000 and € 10,000, for one "part", depending on each unicorn, and is offered to be executed in two or more installments. 


Indeed, the height of the first installment corresponds to the development, prototyping and preseries costs, and thus makes it possible to reach industrialization and therefore to demonstrate the product, both to our partners, and to the press, and other media and beeing ready for the second phase.
This second phase is generally more expensive:
Namely production and  market launch which includes production tools, component supplies, minimum volumes to be manufactured, as well as packaging, logistics, marketing, advertising and distribution, as shown in the table ( budgets ).

However, the second phase reached, there is no risk on the product itself, and therefore the second subscription payment,

The only remaining variable is the sales volume, which ensures anyway a royalty payment

  • Products or services pricing positionning

Funds allocation and Expenses control

All Unicorns must go through most of the phases listed below ( depending on the kind of service, market and product they are developping) . Some phases are parallel, others sequential.

Time to market not only depends on the R&D process, but must also take into account various other elements, phases and manufacturing time.


Most people have no idea of the product development costs, neither marketing, distribution, etc.. to reach the market and succeed.

For example, few people know that a mold for plastic parts production can cost € 100,000 or more and may need more than 2 month to be just machined and some additional time to be validated and ready for production, the shape design of a product can amount to both € 5,000 and € 50,000 depending on the product, or although the cost of a professional presentation video is between 25 and 50,000 € ... Or even that a subcontractor will only work on the basis of a minimum number of pieces and substantial down payment.

It is of course taken into account the internal and external development teams costs, marketing , advertising & sales processes costs, as well as distribution margins, and so on.
​Most of the Startups fail ( 85%) or are forced to seek new investors or addition of funds, urgently . This is due to several common mistakes : 

1 - Neglect R&D time & Industrialization process costs
2 - Neglect the Production process and its real costs 
3 - Neglect or even forget the ( real) marketing and Distribution costs

And thus find themselves short of funds long before the product is ready or they are able to put it on the market, at an affordable price.

As a newcomer on any market and willing to last on the market : The product or service must be better or present some new aspects never seen before. The speed to gain the market is a key point, meaning : not beeing copied or overpassed by competitors already installed on the market, and start the marketing & sales process way before product launch ( Medias communication, Adds slots reservation, Wholesellers, Distribution, Marketers, E-commerce platforms, Buffer stocks, Logistics, etc.. ) .


To avoid any possible failure, all of this is taken in account in the project's budget

All budgets are assessed and controlled by professionals.

Unicorn's funds are raised and allocated to the various phases described here above to reach the sales phase, as soon as possible and in professional conditions , meaning, have all attention and means to handle and invest in Production, Quality , Marketing , Communication , Advertising and Distribution.
Some Unicorns are not concerned by industry, production or physical distribution, their budgets are more dedicated to Software development , Marketing and Cummunication tools to reach their objectives. ​

My Next Unicorn does not replace existing crowdfunding platforms nor does it offer to invest on its site.

Each of the projects presented has been previously validated by a legal Crowdfunding platform operating on the principle of counterpart in Royalty, on which a project is presented, namely:

  • The project and related technology
  • The business plan

Each project is thus hosted, presented and the investment is processed through these crowdfunding platforms having validated them.

As part of the anti-money laundering provisions, each subscriber must identify himself to crowdfuning platform  financial partner:

Control and payment of royalty:

Control and payment of royalty is managed by the crowdfunding platform that monitors the company over 5 years, or as the case may be, subject to control by the latter.
